Route

Day 1: San Francisco.
. Drive over Golden Gate Bridge and stop for walk at a view point. Later we will have dinner (appetizer and drink offered by Travel Dream West) at a bay-view restaurant in Sausalito.
Day 2: San Francisco - Santa Cruz - Mariposa.
Our journey starts with a drive along the Pacific Ocean on scenic Highway 1, and stop at historic Santa Cruz boardwalk.At Mission San Juan Bautista &John Steinbeck Center you learn about American culture and history.
Day 3: Yosemite National Park.
This day is devoted to famous Yosemite National Park. Visit the visitor center and Native American Museum.
Day 4: Tioga Pass - Mono Lake – Bridgeport.
Today we drive over scenic Tioga Pass and crossing the Sierra Nevada mountain range. On the east side of the Sierras we discover bizarre Tufa spires at picturesque alkaline Mono Lake.

Day 5: Bodie Ghost Town - Lake Tahoe - Virginia City.
Driving over a gravel road, we reach Bodie State Park, the largest ghosttown of California. A scenic drive along the Sierra Nevada mountain range leads to giant and famous Lake Tahoe.
Day 6: Fort Churchill - Lahontan Reservoir - Austin - Ely.
Following the loneliest road in America, Hwy 50, we reach Fort Churchill, near the Pony Express and Overland Telegraph route. We arrive at Lahontan reservoir for a picnic and optional swim in this oasis amidst the desert.
Day 7: Great Basin National Park - Salt Lake City.
Today, we travel from a low-lying desert valley to over 9,000 feet (2740m) , where lush flowering meadows greet us in quiet Great Basin National Park. Explore a wondrous stalactite cave, and then take a longer hike to discover the oldest trees in the world, the bristlecone pines up to 4500 years old.
Day 8: Temple Square - Utah Capitol - Antelope Island.
In the morning we visit the impressive Mormon Temple Square. We will enjoy a concert of the world famous Tabernacle Choir, and visit Utah's capitol building. The afternoon and evening we spend on Antelope Island on the Great Salt Lake, a wonderful place.
Day 9: Olympic Park - Fossil Butte National Monument - City of Alpine.
Leaving Salt Lake City we stop at the 2002 Winter Olympics park and visit the Alf Engen Ski Museum. Then we drive to Fossil Butte National Monument, we enjoy a peaceful picnic with BBQ and an hours' hike.
Day 10: Jackson - Grand Teton National Park - Yellowstone National Park.
Explore at your own pace the wild west town of Jackson with its many galleries, stores and coffee shops. In the afternoon we walk along Jenny Lake with breathtaking views of the Grand Tetons, and go on a short boat ride. Then, we drive to Yellowstone National Park.

Day 11 & Day 12: Yellowstone N.P.
Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, hike along the canyon rim, with impressive views of nearby Lower & Upper Falls, Old Faithful lodge and geyser, Norris Geyser Basin and famous Mammoth Hot Springs.
Day 13: Yellowstone N.P - Cody - Buffalo Bill Historical Center.
Early morning we drive along Yellowstone Lake and go for a walk at the thermal area of West Thumb. Onward the road winds over a scenic pass, we stop for lunch at Buffalo Bill's hunting lodge. On to Cody, home of Buffalo Bill, we visit Buffalo Bill Historical Center.

Day 14: Continue travel on your own, or journey home.
