Route

Day 1: Las Vegas
Welcome to Las Vegas; Travel Dream West invites you to dinner where we will get to know each other and your tour guide will hand out a tour documentation.
Day 2: Valley of Fire SP - Red Canyon - Panguitch/Bryce Canyon
Leaving Las Vegas we stop at Nevada’s oldest State Park Valley of Fire for a short hike through beautifully colored sandstone cliffs. We drive up to Utah’s mountain region leaving the heat behind us.
Day 3: Bryce Canyon National Park
Explore Bryce Canyon, one of the most beuatiful National Parks of the West. Drive and walk along the scenic rim trails, and for those more adventurous types hike through the deep canyons of Bryce.
Day 4: Kodachrome Basin SP - Escalante Petrified Forest SP - Calf Creek Falls - Torrey
Stop at fotogenic Kodachrome Basin State Park for a walk.
At Escalante Petrified Forest State Park discover colorful fossilized tree trunks. If temperatures permits we plan for a longer hike to Lower Calf Creek Falls.
Day 5: Capitol Reef National Park - Goblin Valley State Park - Moab
Explore Capitol Reef National Park on a hike through a gigantic slot canyon (weather permitting). Then we explore Goblin Valley State Park and its unusual Disney-creature like formations.
Day 6: Arches National Park
Today's highlight are walks and hikes in Arches National Park,to see the most famous arches including the famous Delicate Arch.
Day 7: Canyonlands National Park - Dead Horse Point State Park - Durango
Walk in Canyonlands National Park to a fantastic view point at famous Mesa Arch. Visit Dead Horse Point State Park overlooking the Colorado River Plateau.
Day 8: Durango - Silverton,San Juan Mountains
An optional ride on the historic Durango & Silverton narrow gauge railway steam train is highly recommended. Silverton, a peaceful mountain village in the San Juan mountains.
Day 9: Mesa Verde National Park - 4-Corners Monument - Bluff
Mesa Verde National Monument and participate at a ranger led climb into the ancient cliff dwellings of native Anasazi peoples. Then, we stop at the Four-Corners-Monument and stand at the intersection of 4 states.
Day 10: Valley of Gods - Gooseneck State Park - Monument Valley
Today’s highlight is Monument Valley; Before we get there we explore the Valley of Gods, a seldom visited area and then stop at Gooseneck State Park. Highlight on this day is a Navajo guided tour through Monument Valley and the night spent in an authentic Native Hogan.
Day 11: Horseshoe Bend - optional Antelope Canyon tour - Lake Powell - Page
In the morning we drive to Page near Lake Powell where we take a short hike to see the fantastic gorge called the Horseshoe Bend of the Colorado River. Later, you can participate at an optional tour guided by a Navajo Native to the famous Antelope Canyon, a photographer’s dream. In the afternoon enjoy the warm waters of Lake Powell, optionally rent a boat or go on a boat tour.
Day 12: Marble Canyon - Grand Canyon National Park
North Rim
In the early morning we leave for our great adventure at Grand Canyon National Park North Rim. On the way we shortly explore the area around Marble Canyon and Lees Ferry before driving up to an elevation of 8800 feet at the Grand Canyon National Park. We discover the park on a hike and several walks along the rim.
Day 13: Pipe Springs NM - Coral Pink Sand Dunes
We drive to Pipe Springs National Monument, a Mormon Pioneer settlement and participate at a ranger guided tour. Then we enjoy a picnic and BBQ at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park with its beautiful pink colored sand dunes inviting for a stroll after lunch.
Day 14: Mt Carmel Highway - Zion National Park - Las Vegas
A scenic drive on Mt. Carmel highway leads to Zion National Park. Take a ranger led shuttle bus through Zion Canyon along Virgin River.
Day 15: Las Vegas - Death Valley National Park - Sierra Nevada - Bishop
On the way we stop at scenic Zabriskie Point with views of colorful hills. Later we walk over a dry salty lake bed at Badwater below sea level. Driving uphill by 4000 feet we reach the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the base of continental US's tallest mountain, Mt. Whitney.
Day 16: Keough Hot Springs - Laws - Bodie Ghosttown- Bridgeport
Enjoy a swim in natural hot mineral waters in historic Keough Hot Springs. Then, we immerse ourselves in the gold rush days at Bodie State Park, largest ghost town of California.
Day 17: Mono Lake - Yosemite National Park - Mariposa
Walk among wondrous Tufa spires at alkaline Mono Lake. Drive over the Tioga Pass and crossing the Sierra Nevada mountain range to Yosemite Park.
Day 18: San Luis Reservoir - San Juan Bautista Mission - John Steinbeck Center - Monterey
Experience culture at San Juan Bautista Mission and Salinas' John Steinbeck Center. Arriving at the scenic Pacific coast in Monterey.
Day 19: 17-mile drive - Carmel Mission
Walk along the most beautiful coast at Pebble Beach, 17-mile drive. Visit to historic Carmel mission's beautiful old gardens.
Day 20: Santa Cruz - Sausalito - San Francisco
We spend the day driving North along the scenic Pacific Coast Highway. Visit old fashioned Santa Cruz Boardwalk. In the evening we will cross Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and say good-bye at dinner (not included).
Day 21: Today, our tour ends. Independent travel or flight back home.
