Mount Pelion is a perfect example of a very harmonious mix of myth, and history and natural beauty. In Greek mythology, Mount Pelion, which took its name from the mythical king Pyleus and father of Achilles, was the playground of the gods of Mt. Olympus and home to Chiron the Centaur, tutor of many ancient Greek heroes such as Jason, Achilles, Theseus and Hercules.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Meteora is a historic complex of lofty monasteries perched at the top of the unusually sculpted sandstone cliffs and one of the most spectacular, amazing and sacred sites to see on earth.
