Southern safaris include the Selous game reserve one of the largest in the world, Ruaha, Mikumi and Udzugwa, Ideally safaris packages are combined in this region. These parks have less rigorous regulations than those in the North, allowing open-sided vehicles, walking the animal trails, or sailing softly along the waterways of the Selous, surrounded by birdlife, honking hippos and cranky crocodiles.
Selous, Ruaha and Mikumi
Day 1 - Depart by road to Selous Game Reserve, lunch at Rufiji Camp. Have an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight are at Rufiji River Camp.
Day 2 - Take a full-day game drive in the Reserve with picnic lunches followed by dinner and overnight at Rufiji Camp.
Day 3 - Have an early morning walking safari before breakfast followed by lunch at the Camp. Take an afternoon boat safari on Rufiji River with dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp.
Day 4 - Collect lunch boxes and depart for a full day game drive. Dinner and overnight are at Rufiji Camp.
Day 5 - Collect lunch boxes and depart for Mikumi. Dinner and overnight are at mikumi Camp.
Day 6 - Depart early for Ruaha National Park lunch at Ruaha River Lodge. Then take an evening game drive in Ruaha Park with dinner and overnight at Ruaha River Lodge.
Day 7 - With Lunch boxes depart for a full day game drive and then have dinner and overnight at Ruaha river lodge
Day 8 - Early depart for Mikumi Park with dinner and overnights at mikumi camp
Day 9 - Morning game drive in Mikumi Park lunch at the Camp followed by afternoon drive back to Dar.

Day 9 - Morning game drive in Mikumi Park lunch at the Camp followed by afternoon drive back to Dar.
